Retreat cards and the cutest little explosion purse you have ever seen!

As promised, I wanted to share with you all the cards and the little purse we made at my Retreat on February 3rd.

I wanted them to see and use the fun designer paper you can receive for FREE with a $50 order during Sale a Bration.  This card featured that  SAB dsp along with the coordinating stamp set, Bubble Over, from the Occasions catalog on page 32.  This would make a perfect “man” card.

For this card I featured the Sweet Soiree suite.  The backgound is the pacific point watercolor pencil washed over with my handy dandy aqua painter. The trick for this same look is to use the side of your pencil when scribbling it on the cardstock.   I loved the brilliant color as a backdrop to highlight the cake.  The stamp set is called Cake Soiree on page 12 of the Occasions catalog.  We colored in the cake and flowers with our blends.  We  used the shimmery white embossing paste for an accent on the cake.  Sorry it doesn’t show up very well in the picture.

The little flourishes were made with the coordinating framelit dies and our dazzling diamonds  glimmer paper.  Topped off with a few rhinestones.

The third card gives us a little touch of spring:

This card features the Tutti-Frutti suite on page 28 of the Occasions catalog.  I wanted to use this strawberry dsp because Jewell was serving Swedish Cream with mixed berries which included strawberries!

This suite has an adorable stamp set called Fruit Basket and has coordinating  punches.  One of the many things I love about using the punches with the stamp set is that the punches are slightly smaller than the stamped image.  That means when punched out it makes a perfect mask for adding more berries to our bowl!

Today’s little tip:  When you want to mask an image remember to make the mask slightly smaller so that when you stamp over it you will not see a white edge where the two images come together.

The dsp was so cute I decided to add some to the inside of the card:

Totally sweet, don’t you agree?

Last but not the least, I want to share the other 3-d item our Retreat stampers made:

This features the Petal Passion suite.  This cute little purse is made with a 12 x 12 piece of the petal passion dsp folded up to create an explosion purse:

So, you could put in a little note, a small gift or gift card.  It was unbelievably easy and so cute!  They all got to pick the dsp of their choice so they all looked different.

Well, that’s all for now!  Happy Stamping!
