Busy day ahead! Amy P, one of my downline and I are running our Sassy Saturday class followed up with my Giftables class. Instead of power shopping we are doing power stamping!
I do have a little tip for you today regarding stamping on designer paper. I decided to do a Christmas card using one of the designer papers from the Painted Harvest DSP as seen on page 49 of the Holiday catalog.
My goal was to make a winter scene with evergreens and the light pole from the Brightly Lit Christmas stamp set on page 29 of the Holiday catalog. Here is what happened:I stamped the trees in tranquil tide and then stamped the light post with memento black ink. The light post just sort of got lost or faded into the background. A light bulb went on and I decided to try this little fix:
See how the light post came back to the front of the picture? My not so secret trick was to go over the light post with versa mark and use clear embossing powder. Ta Da! Check out the difference between the two pictures. Now here is the finished card:
I added a little glow to the lamp, some sparkly snow and the Merry Christmas banner and came up with a dusky snowy Christmas greeting card.
What do you think of using designer paper with a green hue to it to create the card above? Repurposing any of our designer papers into a card that it may not have been designed for is a personal stamping challenge to you! Go forth and stamp!!
