Saying good bye to old favorites and hello to new favorites!

Getting ready for my Kismet class this month. I wanted to concentrate on using some of the beautiful deisgner paper that will be taken out of my tool box due to retirement.  I’m always sad to see some things go, (like tip top taupe and the “fruit paper”!), but on the other hand it makes room for new stamps and paper!  Can you imagine how boring it would be not to have any change in our stamping room?  I love the idea of working with new things and stretching my imagination.

So, speaking of tip top taupe here is a card using that wonderful color combined with soft suede:

The stamp sets used are Tuscan Vineyard and the new Eastern Beauty.  I’m happy to say that Tuscan Vineyard will also be in the new Annual Catalog!  Hooray!!  It’s one of my favorites because it reminds me of our trip last year to France, Italy and Spain with my daughter in law.  (Thanks to Stampin’ Up!)  It’s hard to see the words, but under the picture it says:  Life is Beautiful!  (Which is from the Eastern Beauty set.  The designer paper I used is from the Party Animal collection.

Here’s another on using the lovely retiring designer paper, Floral Boutique which is in our current Annual Catalog.  The good new is that if you are in love with these beautiful prints you will see them again in our new Annual Catalog!!  They will be available in a paper stack with our new incolors!!

At one of the stampin’ Up! demonstrator events they had a presentation with the artist that designed this paper.  She actually painted with designs and then used the computer to reproduce the image on the whole 12 x 12 sheet.  She also showed us her inpspiration board that helped her to come up with all the different patterns!  So, like that artist, we can take inspiration from any where!!  I often will see different patterns or color combinations and say “that is totally a card!”.

One more before card for your consideration:This card is made using some of the new incolors, lemon lime twist, fresh fig and tranquil tide and the new stamp set Eastern Beauty.  This set is available in a presale offering!

Happy Stamping!
