With everything going on since my birthday in the beginning of October I neglected to share some things that were on my share list.
When I was little I loved to read. I was taught to read by a retired school teacher, Miss Irish, who lived down the street from us. She lived in a tiny little cottage home that had a small wood burning stove in the back room. When I would go there we would sit in the front room that I remember had sun shinning in, (or I just felt warm and secure there), and we would read. Then when we were done, we ate tapioca pudding, which I love to this day!
With Miss Irish, I would read poems by Robert Louis Stevenson in a small leather book, which she gave me and I still cherish to this day. But, at home, one of my favorite books was Little Lulu Goes to the Beach. (I know a far cry from Robert Louis Stevenson!) One of the pictures that I remember was Little Lulu walking to the beach with so many beach toys she could hardly walk! Well, I received this birthday card for my birthday from one of my stampers, Linda P. and her wonderful granddaughter, Kendall and it brought back so many great memories! This little swimmer is on a spring so she moves on the card! Isn’t she just the cutest thing? Here is the front cover of the book from my childhood and you’ll see why this card took me back:
I want to thank everyone who sent me beautiful cards during my dark time and I apologize for not sharing sooner!
