Where do you find inspiration for your cards?

That’s a loaded question.  There is so much out there to view and case.  Between Pinterest, (which is a total time sucker for me), Splitcoast Stampers and our very own demonstration website there is always something at your fingertips.

My very favorite thing to do is sit in my messy little corner with one stamp set at a time and just play!  I do love to look at black and white layouts for cards.  I prefer then in black and white so that I don’t get a color or color combination stuck in my head.

I also love to make special cards for individuals when I get a list or know what they love to do, favorite colors etc.  Recently, I went to a wedding shower and of course a few hours before we were to leave, I decided I had better get a card made.  At first I was not sure what to do, so, I pulled out the invite and decided to mimic the design.  Here is the invite:

Pretty nice, right?  I love the lace and the wood background.  I was sad that I had not ordered our new lacy doilies yet, but, decided to use what I had at hand.  Here is what I came up with:IMG_1853

I was not sure whether to go with the pink or blue.  But, you see in the end I did stick with the pink.  I’m happy I did because when we went to the shower at the bride’s home, her bathroom was pink and brown!  I also got to use my coffee stained baker’s twine on this card since I wanted a vintage look.  (Remember awhile back I spilled my coffee twice on my messy desk!  I covered my white bakers twine and just decided to dry it and use it where I could.)

I have also added a special project to my schedule.  Last night I finally had time to made up my patriotic collage.  IMG_1851This project will be done on two days, Tuesday, June 28th from 3-8pm or on Wednesday, July 6th from 9-12.  The cost is $25 which includes the shadow box.  I do have a limited supply of frames, so, get on the list when you can.

Also, for you Bingo players I have scheduled another date.  Saturday July 16th at 6pm.  Cost is $25, with that you will receive a Stampin’ Up! product give, play 6 games of Bingo and possibly win some GREAT prizes!  Light snack will set off the evening festivities.  We will have a guest caller for our numbers again!  This time we have wrangled Vi’s husband, Ron into joining us!  Space is limited, let me know as soon as possible if you want to be on the list!

Happy Stamping!
