I’ve been in the mood for cute “kid” cards!

Yesterday, I shared a Hostess Club card that used the stamp set Skating By.  That features and cute little boy.  Today’s stamp set and card features sweet little girls!  That set is also found in the annual catalog and is called Talented Trio.

I designed two cards similar to one that I spied on Pinterest.  This months technique is “masking” so for the first card, I masked off faux bricks for the background.  I am hoping that it shows up in the picture:

IMG_1258Can you see the block pattern in the background?  I placed a piece of post it note in a straight line, horizontally and vertically and sponged the lines one at a time.  I also “masked” the little girl and stamped right over the girls image.  I image that she is paining a rainbow for her grandmother!  I used a layer of read red over the base of the card which is smoky slate.  The little girl is stamped directly on the whisper white layer, then masked and the colors are stamped around her.

For the second card I used the brick embossing folder:

For this card I ran the whisper white card stock through the brick embossing folder.  After embossing, I gently sponged the edges of each brick with smoky slate.  When stamping the blotches of color, I stamped then gently, I wanted to make sure that you could see the mortor lines.  The little girl is stamped on whisper white cardstock and cut out.  She is placed on the card with dimensionals.   The tunic was stamped on dsp, cut out and attached to the fussy cut image of the little girl.  I believe that this card will be made at our Sassy Satruday class!

Happy Stamping!
