Get your aqua painters out and get ready for a splash of color! Many of you know that I totally LOVE my aqua painters, but, I have not convinced everyone that they are one of the best tools we have.
In my effort to spread my love of aqua painters this month we will be making 5 cards all using them with 5 different stamp sets. The key to learning how to use aqua painters is to use them on the correct medium when starting out. We have the perfect solution: watercolor paper and shimmery card stock. So, that’s what we will be using with each of the cards.
I do use my aqua painters with our regular whisper white and very vanilla cardstock, but, you must control the water. I always have my trusty paper towel by my side to adsorb any extra water from my brush.
Here’s one of the cards for Monday and Tuesday next week:
I used some of my favorite colors together to make this card, old olive, bermuda bay and island indigo. Don’t those little flowers just make you smile? I think they are such a sweet little addition to this card!
One more for the road, (so to speak):
I adore this stamp set, Beautitul Ride from the Occasions Catalog. When I was little my big sisters boyfriend had a red bug and used to take us to McDonalds! Dating myself, but that was when you walked up to the window to order at the McDonalds in Hales Corners. Stamped with our black archival ink, this was a good picture to practice watercoloring on and shading around the different parts of the car.
Hope you enjoyed the cards!
