Techniques for November: Fun folds and vellum

Every month I do a techniques class often asking what my stampers are interested in doing.  This month we decided on fun folds, (which are always “fun”) and since we have so much beautiful vellum, I decided to add that into the mix.

Here is a sneak peek:

watermelon flowersI have been doing so many Christmas cards lately, I wanted to add a “thinking of you” card for this class.  This card has a cut out where I added embossed vellum.  Color was added to the images from the back side with my daubers.  Bright and cheery with the use of watermelon wonder and crisp cucumber!  Looking at it now, I think I would maybe just cluster the little punched out flowers under the verse.  What do you think?

Then there’s the Christmas card with the beautiful embossed vellum:

tree vellumYou can’t tell from the picture, but the trees are a shiny green.  What I did differently on this card is that I cut the white to go behind the vellum smaller that the vellum.  (Does that make sense?)  Very simple card, but, I LOVE it!  Hope you do also!!

Happy Stamping!

  1. Me says:

I’d maybe put one flower on the saying and let the velum flowers take main stage. Nice job on both
