Here we are, October 1st and my very favorite season! Cool and crisp outside with a beautiful blue sky. The wind has picked up and the leaves are falling like raindrops all around. I have a little window right by my desk and I can get a small glimpse of each day. Looking up I only see the top of the trees and the beautiful sky behind them. This is my creative happy place for sure!
I have some cards to share with you that we did the past two days. My product class this month was featuring the stamp set Remarkable you. A GREAT set. A little more pricey than others, but, you will see why you NEED this set:This is the first card I designed for this class. It’s my favorite one. The stamp set includes 3 flowers and 1 branch with leaves. (Also, 2 verses.) For this card and the next two, we embossed all of those stamps on vellum with white embossing powder. Then we used the aqua painter and painted the back side of each image. The branch was cut into 3 sections and a portion was used on each of the 3 cards.
For this card I used a piece of printed vellum from the Winter Wonderland designer vellum stack. The flower is painted with delightful dijon and blackberry bliss. Everything Eleanor helped this card out with the scroll stamp. The strip next to the vellum is our gold foil paper. I also used the gold foil as a layer. (Much prettier in person!)
That’s the three cards that used the vellum. When you paint on the vellum it curls up. We used glue dots to attach the flowers to the card front. I used them sparingly so that the flowers look like they are lifting up off the card.
Just to prove that almost any set can be used to make a Christmas card here is the 4th card of the class:
I have a Christmas card class scheduled for tomorrow and have a teaser card for you to see:
Let me know if you would like to attend tomorrow’s class. I will be cutting and preparing the packets this afternoon. Sessions are 9-12 or 3-8pm. Five cards for $15.
