Two August Techniques cards unveiled today!

Featuring our Stampin’ Up! Embossing Folders!

I love our selection of Embossing Folders.  What I tend to say is that you get a lot of bang for your buck with these folders.  For only $7.95 there is a lot you can do with them.  Let me share some of the special things you can do to enhance your cards!

Card #1 uses sahara sand, very vanilla and chocolate chip card stock.  The folder that I used to create an interesting background is the Zig Zag folder.

???????????????????????????????The stamped images are from the Wet Lands stamp set.  I used markers to color directly onto the stamp then colored in the body of the goose after stamping the image.   The background is not embossed.  I used the folder as a stamp!

I was having trouble designing the cards for this class.  I wanted to make the cards interesting and yet simple to do.  While some of them have a few more steps they are all easily reproducible for you at home.   All of the techniques may not be new to you, however, sometimes I need to go back to the tried and true applications.

My Techniques class schedule does have some changes in it this month.  I will not have a morning session on Tuesday, August 12th.  I will be with my Grandchildren while their Mother and Father go to court to finalize a legal matter with our latest Grandson.  (Note that I said my latest and not my last!  This is number 8 and their love has no number attached to it regarding children in need.)

With all that said their are a few seats left on Monday, August 11th  at the 3-8 session.  I have also opened up a session on Wednesday, August 13th from 9-12.  Let me know as soon as possible if you are interested in joining us.

For card #2 I used black, basic grey and very vanilla cardstock.  The folders that are featured are the Alphabet Press and the Tiny Triangles folders.  All the folders in the annual catalog can be seen on pages 226 and 227.

I used my brayer with basic gray ink on the inside of my Alphabet Press embossing folder.  After brayering on the ink I placed the very vanilla cardstock into the folder and ran it through the Big Shot.  You can see the result, the background of the image is now basic gray!  The second embossing folder I used is the Tiny Triangles folder.  I used our 7/8″ Cotton Ribbon in the folder!  It adds a nice little accent to the card!

Well, guess I’ll close and get things cleaned up before my downline come tonight.  We will be cutting cardstock and getting ready for Camp Stamp in Oga which is next weekend.

Happy Stamping!
