I have been trying to get a hold of one of my demonstrators that lives in an adjacent state. I kept calling and leaving messages, but, no reply. After a while I’m thinking, boy, what if she just doesn’t want to talk to me?
Well, today her phone was answered. It was her daughter and she gave me the terrible news that our Miss Madeline had passed away on December 11th. I was complete speechless, (which doesn’t happen often). It saddens me that we will never get the opportunity to talk to this interesting lady again.
We met Miss Madeline at an Expo that we were at. She was an avid stamper and was interested in coming to camp Stamp in Oga. She was having some remodeling done in her home and so she drove up and came to her first camp with us! She was one of those people that had all kinds of stories to tell as she had worn many hats in her life. She had traveled all over the world and had even gone to cooking school. Madeline became a regular at camp and developed a friendship with us and our other campers.
When she was at camp in November she even decided to sign up to be a demonstrator. She was excited to get her own Big Shot and get her stamping area set up. When I spoke to her daughter she said how much Madeline enjoyed stamping and being a part of our group.
Rest in peace Miss Madeline you will be missed and thought of fondly.
One relationship ended and another one is beginning. I have been putting together a package, (well, two rather large boxes), of Stampin’ UP! products for a family that lives in North Dakota. They are an Amish family and the two teenage girls and their mother have never stamped before! They happened to be delivering goods at a home of one of my stampers when she was opening her box of goodies. They were completely enamored by what they saw! They quietly asked if it would be possible for them to receive some stamping supplies. Well, of course they can!! My sweet stamper immediately called me and told me to order up what I thought they would need to start stamping. Doesn’t that just give you goose bumps? Imagine being with someone who had never stamped? I would love to take a road trip when the weather permits!!
I have ordered a number of our Simply Created kits for them. They are the perfect item for someone new to stamping. Not only do they include everything they need, cardstock cut and scored, envelopes, stamps, an acrylic block and little ink spots, but, they have complete instructions with pictures! I gathered up a number of stamp sets I had here and some paper and a paper trimmer and I think they will be on their way to becoming a stampers!
So, that was the high point and the low point of my day. Before I ramble on too much I will show you a card that we made at my Valentine’s card class last month:
I had to borrow this stamp set from my upline, Sarah because I fell in love with this cute little bird. (Since then, I have purchased the stamp set “Love you More” so I can stamp him when ever I want!) He is colored with our markers in pool party, crumb cake and coastal cabana and of course he’s holding a real red heart. The designer paper is from the paper stack in the Occasions catalog. If I could, I think I would use our doilies on every card. I love the way they work for framing the focal point of a card.
Time to close! Happy Stamping!
