Here is my version of the card see at the upper left hand corner:
The picture in the catalog is not actually a card, but the cover on a note pad. (Guess that really doesn’t matter.) Back to the card, I thought the layout was just fun. Embossing the Off the Grid stamp twice with Gold embossing powder made it stand out. Then I used my lovely aqua painter to swipe broad strokes of old olive and bermuda bay inks. I did spritz it with smoky slate and bermuda bay. (I put 15 drops of reinker into my spritzers and filled the rest with rubbing alcohol.) I added a narrow layer of bermuda bay behind the top layer. It seemed to make it pop the color a little more.
I frequently use my catalog for a source of inspiration when designing cards. You do not need to reinvent the wheel each time you make a card. We have sooooo many great ideas between the pages of our catalogs, USE THEM!
We will be making this at the November Kismet class. Click here to get registered for class.
