Last time I posted I was getting ready for Camp Stamp In Oga. Well, for those of you who come to camp you know that is not a small feat! I literally pack up my whole workshop for our campers to “play” with. That means every stamp set, ink pads, embossing station, Big Shot station, paper piercing station and everything in between!
My saving grace after camp is that my son, Travis and Miss Tami come by afterwards to help haul all of the items back downstairs to my “bunker”. Then I get to put everything back into place in a timely manner. The Monday after camp I have one of my Hostess Clubs. So, the pressure is on to get everything away and pulled for class with nothing amiss!
After Monday I was inspired to stamp and just stamp. (Apparently, if I’m stamping I can NOT type!!) I have lots of cards to show you today to hopefully make up for the delay in blogging.
First thing I will show you are two cards for next weeks Kismet class. (You know – my Kismet class is a collection of 5 of my favorite cards of the month.) This month I thought it would be fun to take a great layout and make 4 cards using that same layout and yet looking totally different, using different sets and color combinations. The 5th card is a fun fold that you will see and stamp when you come to class. (That’s a subtle hint that you need to get signed up right now to come to class!!)
Here’s the ladies “friend” card:Don’t you just love this stamp set? It’s called Perfect Blend, check it out on page 37 of our annual catalog. Paired up with a framelit from Chalk Talk and a lovely lacy button from our Very Vintage Designer Buttons collection. The designer series paper used is from Soho Subway.
Next up is the “man” card for this Kismet offering:
This little bird is from my newest favorite for “man” cards, Walk in the Wild as seen on page 72 of the annual catalog. Again, I used the designer paper from Soho Subway. That particular paper grouping is on my top list also!
Notice the layout on both cards? That’s right! It’s the same! Great layout with different stamp sets makes designing cards much easier.
Ok, so here’s the lowdown – sign up for the August Kismet Class! Monday, August 19th or Tuesday, August 20th. Two sessions each day, 9-12 or 3-8. Five cards all using Stampin’ UP! quality products for only $15. Finished inside and out and ready to mail out!
This month I had a fabulous collection of pop up cards for my Techniques class. I had 18 stampers come and enjoy this extended class! Yes, my Techniques classes usually are a little more challenging and tend to take a little more time. But, that’s what happens when the purpose of a class is to learn or relearn a technique! My Monday morning stampers left around 2:45 pm! We ended up ordering lunch in! It was a total blast and we did lots of stamping and laughing! Coming to class is much more than just stamping, it’s a GREAT social outlet! Come and join the fun, get signed up for a class today!
I will be having a special Holiday card class on Wednesday, August 28th, 9-12 or 3-8. We will be stamping 2 Christmas cards, 2 Thanksgiving cards and 1 Halloween card. Here’s a little peak at one of the Christmas cards. (This is one of two cards that I designed when I was at Camp! Yes, Barb D., I did get 2 whole cards designed and stamped at camp!!!! Hooray!!!)This card uses the stamp set Calm Christmas which is from our Holiday catalog at the top of page 26. This set just screams for embossing which is what I did! Gold embossing powder makes this card look very elegant. I like the little rolled accent with the verse. What do you think?
Here is the Christmas card that I took for my fellow demonstrators to make at our shoebox swap at convention. I liked it sooo much I thought maybe you would like to make it also, so, I added it to my Holiday class offering. This card uses lots of new products from our Holiday catalog. Here’s a list: Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack, Silver 1/8″ Ribbon, Frosted Finishes Embellishments, Silver Foil Sheets, Festive Flurry stamp set and in the inside, (which you would have to come to class to see), the stamp set Christmas Messages. That’s a lot of new “stuff” in one fun fold card! I really love the color combination in this wonderful new Christmas paper. It really needs to be seen in person to really appreciate it!
Here is a cute little fun fold card for the Holiday Class using the newest of the “Best of” stamp sets. Of course it’s the Best of Halloween stamp set.The left side opens up to reveal a cute little message. I LOVE this sweet stamp set! I think that I will end up making more Halloween cards just to use this set.
Just to round out the card offering this morning I thought I would share one of the Thanksgiving cards using our Flip card Framelit. The designer series paper used above is from the Sweater Weather collection. I used the stamp set Truly Grateful and a punched verse from Chalk Talk on the inside circle. Last night was my first time playing with the new framelits. Boy, are you going to love these framelits. Such an easy way to make a fun flip card. Way way easier than what we had to do in the past! Thank you Stampin’ UP! for coming up with this great product!
That’s it for today. Tomorrow I will share another Thanksgiving card using the Magnificent Maple single stamp from the Holiday catalog on page 18.
