I have taken to calling my stamping workroom the “bunker”. It totally insulates me from what’s going on around me. My escape is just 13 steps down into my wonderfully stocked stamping room! It’s a little like Vegas, time stands still and what ever is spoken about in the stamp room stays in the stamp room. On a daily basis we could solve the worlds problems! (If only the politicians would listen!)
Oh well, on to another subject dear to me, our newest ribbons! The are out of this world beautiful. I have put together a ribbon sampler. If you choose to have this wonderful package come to your home you will have one yard of each of the 21 new ribbons listed on page 173 of our 2013-2014 Catalog for only $25! Give me a shout out if you are interested in this gorgeous bundle!
Now, because I know Nancy Z. will be looking for a card today, I thought I would share with you the card that I designed for our Demonstrator swap this Saturday. Our SU family members will be meeting here in my bunker for a shoebox card swap. These meetings are always a blast. We get to make some fabulous cards, eat good food and just kick back and have enjoy each others company. Just another reason to joind my SU family!! You would be welcomed into one of the greatest SU families around!
Enough, enough……here’s the card:The base of the card is Bermuda Bay. The coordinating color is Pool Party and the accent color is Rose Red. The hexagon with “my friend” on it, is elevated with dimensionals.
There is a cool trick to stamping this card which makes it super fast! Ready, here’s the trick: you place all of the hexagons on one acrylic block, (except for the middle one) and stamp them all at the same time on one 4 x 4 piece of card stock. I didn’t put the center one on the acrylic block because I also stamped that one inside the card. After stamping the six hexagons I did stamp the center one. After stamping, I used our hexagon punch and punched them all out. Making it even faster, depending on the card design you could just use the 4 x 4 stamped card stock as is.
Maybe that’s not so tricky, but, it sure does make it faster to stamp that many items even if you are going to punch them out. This may also be a plus for the stampers that prefer the acrylic blocks over the wooden blocks. I choose to work with both. But, with this stamp set, I really am happy that I purchased the bundle with the clear stamp set.
