Getting March Hostess Cards ready…
Sometimes it’s good to go back to basics. Like the basic technique of masking, which is what I did when stamping the stack of tea cups below.
I walked through my kitchen and this card came to mind, (mind you my kitchen has this inspiration x 10, maybe I should be up there. Then again, maybe not!).
In real life stacks of dishes don’t look this cute. But, in my workshop and in my little world they look oh so cute! I am doing this card for my March Hostess Club nights. It uses summer starfruit as the card base.
The DSP used is from the Print Poetry pack from the Spring Catalog. Those packs are 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 and cost only $6.95 for 48 sheets. So, when I designed this card I wanted to use every piece of the beautiful DSP. The very vanilla cardstock is the base layer, which is 5 x 3 3/4. I used the one of the new embossing folders from the Textured Impressions Needlepoint Border on the right hand side and then hand cut in the scallops following the embossed pattern. The DSP is cut 3 1/4 x 2 1/4, which allows me to get 2 cards done with 1 sheet of the 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 Print Poetry DSP. The ribbon in the center covers the opening between the two DSP layers. The cute little hello and the petite curly label punch I used to punch it out are items that you could receive FREE when ordering with me during Sale-a-bration!
I was having a little trouble getting a picture of this card due to this:That’s right, another cat attack! When I’m trying to hurry and get set up, she’s trying to get things knocked down. She has my whole workshop, but, at that moment that was the specific place she really needed to lay down!
Well, now you have seen one of my special cards for my Hostess Club Members. If you would like to become a member let me know! You get to come and make 3 cards and enjoy the company of other stampers once a month. All you have to do is purchase $20 in Stampin’ UP! products from me each month. In addition to the cute cards you will get to be the Hostess for 1 month during the club session and receive all those wonderful Hostess Rewards! I have a club renewal coming up in April.
