Inspired by my downline, Barb Z.’s love of the patchwork technique!
Miss Barb was at our showbox swap last Saturday and was generous enough to bring along the makings for a patchwork card front. I switched it up this morning in another way using my Hearts Framelits.
I started with a 4 x 3-3/4″ piece of whisper white card stock and a 4 x 3-3/4″ piece of our Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. (See page 160 in our large catalog to read more about these adhesive sheets.) You apply the adhesive sheet to the whisper white card stock and create a sticker. Then you pick out a pack of designer series paper or scraps of DSP and punch out 1-1/4″ squares. You then arrange the squares and press them down onto your “sticker” sheet. Here’s a picture of that step:
I choose to use the 3 framelits above, you can use the framelits of your choice. After cutting out as many hearts as I could I created these two cards:
Here’s the first one using the larges heart. By the way, the DSP used is from the Sale-a-bration brochure along with the vine embossing folder on the Pool Party background layer. The ribbon and button are also from the SAB brochure. (I know I have said it before, but, here goes: You can receive all of these items for FREE!!!)
Here’s the second card:
Using the same hearts I wanted to create a different color combination. In this card I used Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry, and Pool Party. I used the Core’dinations card stock embossed with the Honeycomb folder.
The patchwork technique is a fun way to use up your extra DSP. The possibilities are limitless! Give it a try using our adhesive sheets and send me a picture of your card designs.
