December 20th and we are waiting for the snow…..

send it down…my Grandchildren want to play!

Yesterday we went to visit the Grandchildren.  With the four oldest, (age 11 – 3), we made special Christmas cards for their parents and their other set of Grandparents.  I had everything cut and ready to go, just like when I have a class here.  We did what I call a “stamp around”.  Meaning that I show them what card stock to use and where to stamp the image, then we send the stamp and ink pad around the table.  When it gets back to me we start on the next image and ink pad.  Here is the card:

The stamp set is First Christmas from the Holiday catalog.  The DSP is from our Festival of Prints pack also from the Holiday catalog.  Hard to really tell but the star is stamped with Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin’ Pad.  It gives a great shimmery look.  Then of course we needed to blitz it up with a rhinestone.

This is a great project to do for any holiday with children.  Not only did we have fun working together and stamping, but, after the card was done they each wrote a special message inside the cards.  You just know that who ever receives a card like that from a child, you are going to keep that card forever.  The older children of course wrote their own messages and then helped the younger children with their messages.  I would highly recommend this activity with the children in your lives.  It was really interesting what they all came up with!

Here is the card for the Christmas basket today:

I used a sheet of DSP from the Festival of Prints paper stack.  We love to use designer series paper and I just wanted to note …. don’t be afraid to also stamp on it!!  It is fun to further embellish this beautiful paper.  USE IT and STAMP ON IT!  (I’m only saying that because I used to totally hoard it!)

Happy Stamping!
